LASHING IS THE SECURING OF CARGO FOR TRANSPORTATION WITH THE GOAL OF MINIMIZING SHIFTING. ITEMS USED FOR LASHING INCLUDE ROPES, CABLES, WIRES, CHAINS, STRAPPING, AND NETS. THESE ITEMS ARE ANCHORED TO THE CONTAINER AND TENSIONED AGAINST THE CARGO.
